⛳ To এর ব্যবহার (Usage of To)

▣ স্থানের দিকে বোঝাতে (Indicating direction to a place) ☞ To a specific location

📝 Example:- I want to go to their home. (আমি তাদের বাসায় যেতে চাই।)

❏ I go to College. (আমি কলেজে যাই।)

❏ Rita goes to market. (রিতা মার্কেট/বাজারে যায়)

❏ He traveled to Paris. (সে প্যারিসে ভ্রমণ করেছিল)

❏ We are going to the beach. (আমরা সমুদ্র সৈকতে যাচ্ছি)

❏ She pointed to the map. (সে মানচিত্রের দিকে নির্দেশ করেছিল)

▣ Note: home, there, abroad, upstairs, downstairs এর পূর্বে to বসে না। (To is not used before home, there, abroad, upstairs, downstairs.)

▣ ব্যতিক্রম: from here to there. (Exception: from here to there.)

▣ পর্যন্ত বোঝাতে (Indicating "up to" or "until") ☞ Duration, limit

📝 Example:- I need 5 to 6 hours. (আমার ৫ থেকে ৬ ঘন্টা লাগবে।)

❏ She needs to come from 1 pm to 2 pm. (তার আসতে সময় লাগবে দুপুর ১টা থেকে ২টা পর্যন্ত।)

❏ I conduct a live class from 10 pm to 11 pm. (আমি রাত ১০টা থেকে ১১ টা পর্যন্ত একটি লাইভ ক্লাস নি)

❏ The store is open from 9 am to 5 pm. (দোকানটি সকাল ৯টা থেকে বিকাল ৫টা পর্যন্ত খোলা থাকে)

❏ He worked from dawn to dusk. (সে ভোর থেকে সন্ধ্যা পর্যন্ত কাজ করেছিল)

❏ The road goes from the city to the mountains. (রাস্তাটি শহর থেকে পাহাড় পর্যন্ত যায়)

▣ উদ্দেশ্য বোঝাতে (Indicating purpose) ☞ For the purpose of

📝 Example:- He called me to come here for reading. (সে আমাকে এখানে পড়ার জন্য ডেকেছেন)

❏ Lima comes to our home to take my book. (লিমা আমার বই নিতে আমাদের বাসায় আসে)

❏ They invited me to take the class. (তারা আমাকে ক্লাসটি নিতে নিমন্ত্রণ করেছিল)

❏ I went to the market to buy vegetables. (আমি সবজি কিনতে বাজারে গিয়েছিলাম)

❏ She studies hard to pass the exam. (সে পরীক্ষা পাস করার জন্য কঠোর পড়াশোনা করে)

❏ We eat to live. (আমরা বাঁচার জন্য খাই)

▣ কারো কাছে বোঝাতে (Indicating "to someone") ☞ To a person

📝 Example:- She comes to me everyday. (সে আমার কাছে প্রতিদিন আসে)

❏ Ariful Islam came to me yesterday. (আরিফুল ইসলাম গতকাল আমার কাছে এসেছিল)

❏ Why did you tell about the matter to his father? (তুমি কেন তার বাবাকে ব্যাপারটি বলেছিলে?)

❏ Give the letter to him. (চিঠিটি তাকে দাও)

❏ I spoke to the manager. (আমি ম্যানেজারের সাথে কথা বলেছিলাম)

❏ He sent a gift to his sister. (সে তার বোনকে একটি উপহার পাঠিয়েছিল)

▣ পরিমাণ/হার/অনুপাত/তুলনা বোঝাতে (Indicating quantity/rate/ratio/comparison) ☞ Division, defeat, preference

📝 Example:- It is divided into 4 to 5 portions. (এটা ৪ থেকে ৫ ভাগে বিভক্ত করা হয়)

❏ We were defeated by 5 to 3 goals. (আমরা ৫/৩ গোলে হারলাম)

❏ Nur prefers coffee to tea. (নূর চায়ের চেয়ে কফি পছন্দ করে)

❏ The ratio of boys to girls is 2 to 1. (ছেলেদের থেকে মেয়েদের অনুপাত ২:১)

❏ He is senior to me. (সে আমার চেয়ে সিনিয়র)

❏ This is superior to that. (এটি সেটির চেয়ে উন্নত)

▣ মুখোমুখি বোঝাতে (Indicating face-to-face) ☞ Meeting, back-to-back

📝 Example:- I want to meet him. (আমি তার সাথে সাক্ষাৎ করতে চাই)

❏ They will sit back to back. (তারা পিছন ফিরে বসবে)

❏ We stood face to face. (আমরা মুখোমুখি দাঁড়িয়েছিলাম)

❏ The two teams went head to head. (দুটি দল মুখোমুখি হয়েছিল)

❏ They fought hand to hand. (তারা হাতাহাতি করেছিল)

▣ দিক বোঝাতে (Indicating direction) ☞ Geographical direction

📝 Example:- Bangladesh is to the south of the north pole. (বাংলাদেশ উত্তর মেরুর দক্ষিণে অবস্থিত)

❏ Pakistan is to the west of our country. (পাকিস্তান আমাদের দেশের পশ্চিমে অবস্থিত)

❏ The sun rises to the east. (সূর্য পূর্ব দিকে ওঠে)

❏ The road leads to the city. (রাস্তাটি শহরের দিকে যায়)

❏ He turned to the right. (সে ডানদিকে মোড় নিয়েছিল)

▣ সময় বাকি আছে/দিবস হতে বাকি আছে বোঝাতে (Indicating time remaining/days left) ☞ Time before a specific hour/event

📝 Example:- It is quarter to 5. (পৌনে পাঁচটা বাজে)

❏ Now, it's quarter to 9. (এখন পৌনে নয়টা)

❏ It is quarter to 11/10/....... (দশটা বা এগারোটা বাজতে ১৫ মিনিট বাকি)

❏ It is ten to ten. (দশটা দশটা)

❏ It is merely five days to the world cup. (বিশ্বকাপের আর মাত্র পাঁচদিন বাকি)

❏ It's five minutes to midnight. (মধ্যরাত হতে পাঁচ মিনিট বাকি)

❏ There are two weeks to the exam. (পরীক্ষার আর দুই সপ্তাহ বাকি)

❏ We have an hour to spare. (আমাদের এক ঘন্টা অতিরিক্ত সময় আছে)

▣ বিঃদ্র: Home এবং Abroad এর আগে সাধারণত To বসে না। (Note: To is generally not used before Home and Abroad.)

⛳ At এর ব্যবহার (Usage of At)

▣ তুলনামূলক ছোট স্থানের পূর্বে কোন কাজ করার সময় বুঝাতে (Indicating a relatively small place or time of action) ☞ Specific location, time of an event

📝 Example:- She lives at Kalatoli in Cox's Bazar. (সে কক্সবাজারের কলাতলিতে বসবাস করে)

❏ I live at Mirpur in Dhaka. (আমি ঢাকার মিরপুরে বসবাস করি)।

❏ At the time of reading, he called me. (পড়ার সময় সে আমাকে ডেকেছিলেন)

❏ His college is at Mirpur. (তার কলেজ মিরপুরে)

❏ We met at the bus stop. (আমরা বাস স্টপে দেখা করেছিলাম)

❏ The party is at my house. (পার্টিটি আমার বাড়িতে)

❏ He works at a bank. (সে একটি ব্যাংকে কাজ করে)

▣ হার/গতি বোঝাতে (Indicating rate/speed) ☞ Speed

📝 Example:- He was riding the bike at 100km/hour. (সে ঘন্টায় ১০০ কি.মি. বেগে বাইকটি চালাচ্ছিল)

❏ The car was traveling at a high speed. (গাড়িটি উচ্চ গতিতে চলছিল)

❏ The water is boiling at 100 degrees Celsius. (জল ১০০ ডিগ্রি সেলসিয়াসে ফুটছে)

❏ He drives at 60 miles per hour. (সে প্রতি ঘন্টায় ৬০ মাইল গতিতে গাড়ি চালায়)

▣ দূরত্ব বোঝাতে (Indicating distance) ☞ Distance

📝 Example:- Barishal is at 350 km from Dhaka. (ঢাকা থেকে বরিশাল ৩৫০ কি.মি. দূরে)

❏ Our selected visiting place is at 5km from Dhaka. (আমাদের পরিদর্শনের জায়গা ঢাকা থেকে ৫কিমি. দূরে)

❏ The target is at 200 meters. (লক্ষ্যটি ২০০ মিটার দূরে)

❏ He lives at a distance of 10 miles. (সে ১০ মাইল দূরে থাকে)

❏ The shop is at the end of the street. (দোকানটি রাস্তার শেষে)

▣ দিনের কোন সময় বুঝাতে (Indicating a time of day) ☞ Specific part of the day

📝 Example:- I will leave the room at morning. (আমি সকালে রুম ত্যাগ করবো)

❏ We will be at Mirpur at sunset. (আমরা সূর্যাস্তের সময় মিরপুর থাকবো)

❏ He usually sleeps at night. (সে সাধারণত রাতে ঘুমায়)

❏ The meeting is at noon. (মিটিংটি দুপুরে)

❏ She arrived at midnight. (সে মধ্যরাতে পৌঁছেছিল)

▣ তাকিয়ে থাকা বুঝাতে (Indicating looking at) ☞ Focus of gaze

📝 Example:- I am looking at Ruma. (আমি রুমার দিকে তাকিয়ে আছি)

❏ I aim at a Tiger. (আমি বাঘের দিকে লক্ষ করি)

❏ He stared at the painting. (সে ছবিটির দিকে তাকিয়েছিল)

❏ Don't laugh at others. (অন্যদের দেখে হাসো না)

❏ She smiled at him. (সে তার দিকে হেসেছিল)

▣ Point of time বোঝাতে (Indicating a specific point in time) ☞ Exact time

📝 Example:- At 7 am (সকাল ৭টায়), at night (রাতে), at noon (দুপুরে), at midnight (মধ্যরাতে).

❏ The show starts at 8 o'clock. (অনুষ্ঠানটি ৮টায় শুরু হয়)

❏ He arrived at the exact moment. (সে ঠিক সেই মুহূর্তে পৌঁছেছিল)

❏ We will meet at the appointed time. (আমরা নির্ধারিত সময়ে দেখা করব)

▣ দক্ষতা বোঝাতে (Indicating skill/proficiency) ☞ Good at something

📝 Example:- Rahin is good at English. (রাহিন ইংরেজিতে দক্ষ)

❏ She is good at cooking. (সে রান্নায় দক্ষ)

❏ Rabbi is good at playing football (রাব্বি ফুটবল খেলায় দক্ষ)

❏ He is excellent at math. (সে গণিতে চমৎকার)

❏ She is quick at learning. (সে শিখতে দ্রুত)

❏ They are skilled at negotiation. (তারা আলোচনায় দক্ষ)

▣ দায়িত্ব বোঝাতে (Indicating responsibility) ☞ Responsible for

📝 Example:- You should practice at your responsibility. (তোমার নিজ দায়িত্বে অনুশীলন করা উচিত)

❏ He is at fault. (সে দোষী)

❏ She is at the helm of the company. (সে কোম্পানির নেতৃত্বে আছে)

❏ The decision is at your discretion. (সিদ্ধান্তটি তোমার বিবেচনার উপর নির্ভর করে)

▣ বয়স বোঝাতে (Indicating age) ☞ Age

📝 Example:- They lived in Dhaka at my birth. (আমার জন্মের সময় তারা ঢাকা থাকতেন)

❏ I have started 'English Therapy' at 23. (আমি ২৩ বছর বয়সে ইংলিশ থেরাপি শুরু করেছি)

❏ He retired at the age of 60. (সে ৬০ বছর বয়সে অবসর নিয়েছিল)

❏ She got married at 25. (সে ২৫ বছর বয়সে বিয়ে করেছিল)

❏ The child started school at five. (শিশু পাঁচ বছর বয়সে স্কুল শুরু করেছিল)

▣ কোথাও থাকা বোঝাতে (Indicating being somewhere) ☞ Location

📝 Example:- He is at hospital. (সে হাসপাতালে আছে)

❏ I am at market/ office/ work/..... (আমি বাজারে/অফিসে/কাজে আছি)

❏ I am at home. (আমি বাসায় আছি)

❏ She is at the library. (সে লাইব্রেরিতে আছে)

❏ We were at the concert. (আমরা কনসার্টে ছিলাম)

❏ The car is at the garage. (গাড়িটি গ্যারেজে আছে)

▣ নিচের শব্দগুলোর পূর্বে স্বভাবতই at বসে। যা আপনি মনে রাখলে সহজেই ব্যবহার করতে পারবেন। যথা: (The following words are naturally preceded by "at". You can easily use them if you remember them.) At a concert, At a football match, At the meeting, At a conference, At sea, At the bus stop, At reception, At the door, At the window, At the bottom, At 5 pm, At the end, At 6 miles per hour, At the front, At the back of a building, At the theater, At the back of a group, At home, At work, At university, At college, At the age of 21, At 90 degrees, At night, At Christmas, At present, At the moment, At the same time etc.

⛳ In এর ব্যবহার (Usage of In)

▣ তুলনামূলক বড় স্থানের পূর্বে (Before relatively large places) ☞ Large geographical areas

📝 Example:- In Cox's Bazar, in India, in Pakistan.

❏ He lives in Pakistan. (সে পাকিস্তান বসবাস করে)

❏ He lives at Uttara in Dhaka. (সে ঢাকার উত্তরায় বসবাস করে)

❏ Bangladesh is a country in Asia. (বাংলাদেশ এশিয়া মহাদেশের একটি দেশ)

❏ She works in London. (সে লন্ডনে কাজ করে)

❏ The capital city is in the center of the country. (রাজধানী শহরটি দেশের কেন্দ্রে)

❏ We found him in the garden. (আমরা তাকে বাগানে খুঁজে পেয়েছি)

▣ অনেক বড় জায়গার দিকে বোঝাতে (Indicating direction to a very large place) ☞ General direction

📝 Example:- The Sun rises in the east. (সূর্য পূর্ব দিকে ওঠে)

❏ The birds fly in the sky. (পাখিরা আকাশে ওড়ে)

❏ He looked in the mirror. (সে আয়নায় তাকিয়েছিল)

❏ The ship sailed in the ocean. (জাহাজটি সমুদ্রে যাত্রা করেছিল)

▣ পেশা বোঝাতে (Indicating profession) ☞ Joining a profession

📝 Example:- He joined in the army. (সে সেনাবাহিনীতে যোগদান করলো/করেছিল)

❏ Afifa wants to join in a football coach. (আফিফা ফুটবল কোচ হিসেবে যোগ দিতে চান)

❏ She is a specialist in computer science. (সে কম্পিউটার বিজ্ঞানে একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ)

❏ He has a degree in engineering. (তার ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিংয়ে ডিগ্রি আছে)

❏ She works in finance. (সে অর্থায়নে কাজ করে)

▣ কোন বিষয় বা ভাষা বোঝাতে (Indicating a subject or language) ☞ Field of study, language

📝 Example:- He has completed a diploma in Bsc. (সে বিএসসিতে ডিপ্লোমা শেষ করেছে)

❏ I have read the book in English. (আমি ইংরেজীতে বইটি পড়েছি)

❏ The instructions are written in French. (নির্দেশাবলী ফরাসি ভাষায় লেখা আছে)

❏ He is an expert in history. (সে ইতিহাসে একজন বিশেষজ্ঞ)

❏ The story is told in simple words. (গল্পটি সহজ ভাষায় বলা হয়েছে)

▣ Responsibility অথবা বিবেচনা বোঝাতে (Indicating responsibility or consideration) ☞ Under one's risk

📝 Example:- You have to do the work in your risk. (তোমাকে তোমার ঝুঁকিতে কাজটি করতে হবে)

❏ He is in charge of the project. (সে প্রকল্পের দায়িত্বে আছে)

❏ The decision is in your hands. (সিদ্ধান্তটি তোমার হাতে)

❏ She acted in good faith. (সে সদিচ্ছায় কাজ করেছিল)

▣ বছর, মাস ও ঋতুর পূর্বে (Before years, months, and seasons) ☞ Time periods

📝 Example:- My birthday is in Autumn. (আমার জন্মদিন শরৎ এ)

❏ He will come in Winter. (সে শীতে আসবে)

❏ He was born in May in 1971/ in winter. (সে ১৯৭১ সালের মে মাসে/শীতে জন্ম গ্রহণ করেছিল)

❏ The event will take place in July. (অনুষ্ঠানটি জুলাই মাসে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে)

❏ We celebrate New Year in January. (আমরা জানুয়ারিতে নববর্ষ উদযাপন করি)

❏ The flowers bloom in spring. (ফুল বসন্তে ফোটে)

▣ ভবিষ্যতে কিছুদিনের মধ্যে বোঝাতে (Indicating within a few days in the future) ☞ Future timeframe

📝 Example:- He will be there in two weeks. (সে/তিনি সেখানে দুই সপ্তাহের মধ্যে যাবেন)

❏ I will learn English in 100 days. (আমি ১০০ দিনের মধ্যে ইংরেজি শিখবো)

❏ The report will be ready in a few days. (প্রতিবেদনটি কয়েক দিনের মধ্যে প্রস্তুত হবে)

❏ She will finish the work in an hour. (সে এক ঘন্টার মধ্যে কাজটি শেষ করবে)

❏ We expect results in a month. (আমরা এক মাসের মধ্যে ফলাফল আশা করি)

▣ অবস্থা বোঝাতে (Indicating state/condition) ☞ Current situation

📝 Example:- I am in a critical moment. (আমি একটি সংকটময় মুহূর্তে আছি)

❏ They are in bad/good situation. (তারা খারাপ অবস্থায়/ভালো অবস্থায়)

❏ Our family is in danger. (আমাদের পরিবার বিপদে পড়েছে)

❏ He is in trouble. (সে সমস্যায় আছে)

❏ She is in love. (সে প্রেমে পড়েছে)

❏ The car is in good condition. (গাড়িটি ভালো অবস্থায় আছে)

▣ কোন ব্যক্তির মধ্যে বোঝাতে (Indicating within a person) ☞ Quality within a person

📝 Example:- We should take this quality in us. (আমাদের এই গুণটি থাকা উচিত)

❏ There is kindness in his heart. (তার হৃদয়ে দয়া আছে)

❏ She has great potential in her. (তার মধ্যে অনেক সম্ভাবনা আছে)

❏ The answer lies in yourself. (উত্তরটি তোমার নিজের মধ্যেই আছে)

▣ সময়ের মধ্যে বোঝাতে (Indicating within a period of time) ☞ Time of day/duration

📝 Example:- In the evening(সন্ধ্যায়), in a day (একদিনে), in an hour (এক ঘণ্টায়)

❏ He arrived in the morning. (সে সকালে পৌঁছেছিল)

❏ The work was completed in a week. (কাজটি এক সপ্তাহের মধ্যে সম্পন্ন হয়েছিল)

❏ She finished the race in record time. (সে রেকর্ড সময়ে দৌড় শেষ করেছিল)

▣ সীমানার মধ্যে বোঝাতে (Indicating within boundaries) ☞ Enclosed space

📝 Example:- In the field (মাঠের মধ্যে), in the classroom (শ্রেণিকক্ষে), in the box (বক্সের মধ্যে)

❏ The children are playing in the park. (শিশুরা পার্কে খেলছে)

❏ He lives in a small village. (সে একটি ছোট গ্রামে থাকে)

❏ The books are in the library. (বইগুলি লাইব্রেরিতে আছে)

⛳ Of এর ব্যবহার (Usage of Of)

▣ অধিকার ও মালিকানা বোঝাতে (Indicating possession and ownership) ☞ Belonging to

📝 Example:- She is the owner of this house. (সে এই বাড়ির মালিক)

❏ This is the car of Mr. Saiful Islam. (এই গাড়িটি জনাব সাইফুল ইসলামের)

❏ The capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. (বাংলাদেশের রাজধানী ঢাকা)

❏ He is a friend of mine. (সে আমার একজন বন্ধু)

❏ The color of the sky is blue. (আকাশের রঙ নীল)

▣ কারণ বোঝাতে (Indicating cause) ☞ Reason for an event

📝 Example:- Her father died of heart attack. (তার বাবা হার্ট অ্যাটাকে মারা গেল)

❏ She died of the corona. (সে করোনায় মারা গেল)

❏ He is proud of his achievements. (সে তার অর্জন নিয়ে গর্বিত)

❏ They are afraid of the dark. (তারা অন্ধকারকে ভয় পায়)

❏ The city was full of joy. (শহরটি আনন্দে পূর্ণ ছিল)

▣ সম্পর্ক বোঝাতে (Indicating relationship) ☞ About someone/something

📝 Example:- He wants to know of him. (সে তার সম্পর্কে জানতে চায়)

❏ I know many things of English. (আমি ইংলিশ সম্পর্কে অনেককিছু জানি)

❏ This is a story of love and loss. (এটি প্রেম ও হারানোর গল্প)

❏ He is a man of integrity. (সে একজন সততার মানুষ)

❏ The problem of poverty is widespread. (দারিদ্র্যের সমস্যা ব্যাপক)

▣ উপকরণ বোঝাতে (Indicating material) ☞ Made from

📝 Example:- The pencil is made of wood. (কাঠ দিয়ে পেন্সিল তৈরি)

❏ The marker is made of plastic. (প্লাস্টিক দিয়ে মার্কার তৈরি)

❏ The table is made of glass. (টেবিলটি কাঁচের তৈরি)

❏ This ring is made of gold. (এই আংটিটি সোনার তৈরি)

❏ The house is built of bricks. (বাড়িটি ইটের তৈরি)

▣ সমষ্টির মধ্যে একটি/একাধিক বোঝাতে (Indicating one/several out of a group) ☞ Part of a whole

📝 Example:- One of my students (আমার ছাত্রদের একজন), some of these mangoes (এই আমগুলোর কিছু)

❏ one of them (তাদের মধ্যে একজন)

❏ Most of the people agreed. (অধিকাংশ মানুষ রাজি হয়েছিল)

❏ A few of the books are missing. (কিছু বই অনুপস্থিত)

❏ All of us went to the party. (আমরা সবাই পার্টিতে গিয়েছিলাম)

▣ উৎস বোঝাতে (Indicating origin) ☞ Source

📝 Example:- The hog plum of Barishal is famous. (বরিশালের আমড়া বিখ্যাত)

❏ The Lichi of Dinajpur is famous. (দিনাজপুরের লিচু বিখ্যাত)

❏ He is a native of this village. (সে এই গ্রামের একজন স্থানীয়)

❏ The river originates of the mountains. (নদীটি পাহাড় থেকে উৎপন্ন হয়েছে)

❏ This is a product of hard work. (এটি কঠোর পরিশ্রমের ফল)

▣ পরিমাণ বুঝাতে (Indicating quantity) ☞ Amount

📝 Example:- A gram of diamond. (এক গ্রাম হীরা)

❏ A little of oil. (একটু তেল)

❏ A cup of tea. (এক কাপ চা)

❏ A slice of bread. (এক টুকরা রুটি)

❏ A bottle of water. (এক বোতল জল)

⛳ On এর ব্যবহার (Usage of On)

▣ কোনকিছুর উপর লেগে থাকা বোঝাতে (Indicating resting on a surface) ☞ Surface contact

📝 Example:- The pen on the chair. (কলমটি চেয়ারের উপরে)

❏ The book is on the table. (বইটি টেবিলের উপরে)

❏ I walk on the roof of my house. (আমি আমাদের বাড়ির ছাদের ওপর দিয়ে হাঁটি)

❏ The picture is on the wall. (ছবিটি দেয়ালের উপর)

❏ He put his hand on my shoulder. (সে আমার কাঁধে হাত রেখেছিল)

❏ The dust settled on the furniture. (ধুলো আসবাবপত্রের উপর জমেছিল)

▣ বার বা দিন ও তারিখের/বিশেষ দিনের পূর্বে (Before days of the week, dates, and special days) ☞ Specific day/date

📝 Example:- I will talk to him on Sunday at 6 o clock on 25th January. (আমি ২৫ জানুয়ারি রবিবার ৬ টায় কথা বলবো)

❏ He came on Friday on 10th May. (সে ১০ ই মে শুক্রবার এসেছিল)

❏ I gifted her on her birthday. (আমি তার জন্মদিনে তাকে উপহার দিয়েছিলাম)

❏ The meeting is on Monday. (মিটিংটি সোমবার)

❏ We celebrate Christmas on December 25th. (আমরা ২৫শে ডিসেম্বর ক্রিসমাস উদযাপন করি)

❏ She was born on a sunny day. (সে একটি রৌদ্রোজ্জ্বল দিনে জন্মগ্রহণ করেছিল)

▣ নির্ভরতা বোঝাতে (Indicating dependence) ☞ Relying on

▣ নদীর তীর বোঝাতে (Indicating river bank) ☞ Location by a river

❏ The village is situated on the river. (গ্রামটি নদীর তীরে অবস্থিত)

❏ We had a picnic on the riverside. (আমরা নদীর ধারে পিকনিক করেছিলাম)

❏ The city lies on the coast. (শহরটি উপকূলে অবস্থিত)

▣ দায়িত্বে থাকা বোঝাতে (Indicating being on duty) ☞ Engaged in duty

📝 Example:- Ahnaf is on duty. (আহনাফ এখন কাজে আছেন)

❏ The police officer is on patrol. (পুলিশ অফিসার টহলরত)

❏ She is on call tonight. (সে আজ রাতে অন-কল আছে)

❏ The machine is on standby. (যন্ত্রটি স্ট্যান্ডবাইতে আছে)

▣ Floor বোঝাতে (Indicating floor level) ☞ Floor number

📝 Example:- He lives on the 3rd floor. (সে তিন তলায় থাকে)

❏ I am on the 2nd floor. (আমি দ্বিতীয় তলায় থাকি)

❏ English Therapy is on the ground floor. (ইংলিশ থেরাপি নীচতলায় অবস্থিত)

▣ সময়ের সমষ্টি বা যাবৎ বোঝাতে (Indicating duration of time) ☞ Period of time

📝 Example:- They have been reading books for three hours. (তারা তিন ঘন্টা যাবৎ বই পড়ছে)

❏ I have been teaching for two years. (আমি দু'বছর যাবৎ শিক্ষকতা করছি)

❏ He has lived here for ten years. (সে এখানে দশ বছর ধরে বাস করছে)

❏ She waited for a long time. (সে অনেকক্ষণ অপেক্ষা করেছিল)

❏ The store is open for eight hours a day. (দোকানটি দিনে আট ঘন্টা খোলা থাকে)

▣ মূল্য বা বিনিময় বোঝাতে (Indicating price or exchange) ☞ Price

📝 Example:- He bought a car for 50 lakhs. (সে ৫০ লক্ষ টাকায় একটি গাড়ি কিনেছিল)

❏ I exchanged my old phone for a new one. (আমি আমার পুরনো ফোনটি একটি নতুন ফোনের জন্য বিনিময় করেছি)

▣ সময়ের জন্য বোঝাতে (Indicating "for a period of time") ☞ Duration

📝 Example:- For a day (এক দিনের জন্যে), For a week (এক সপ্তাহের জন্যে), For a month (এক মাসের জন্যে), For a year (এক বছরের জন্যে), For a while (কিছুক্ষণের জন্যে)

⛳ By এর ব্যবহার (Usage of By)

▣ কোনকিছু দ্বারা বা কারো দ্বারা বোঝাতে (Indicating by means of something or someone) ☞ Method, agent

📝 Example:- I clean my room by my hand. (আমি আমার হাত দ্বারা আমার ঘর পরিষ্কার করি)

❏ I go to office by bus. (আমি বাসে করে অফিসে যাই)

❏ I am writing by pen. (আমি কলম দ্বারা লিখছি)

❏ ব্যতিক্রম: on foot, on a bicycle, on horse back.

❏ The book was written by a famous author. (বইটি একজন বিখ্যাত লেখক দ্বারা লেখা হয়েছিল)

❏ He travels by train. (সে ট্রেনে ভ্রমণ করে)

❏ The problem was solved by teamwork. (সমস্যাটি দলগত কাজের মাধ্যমে সমাধান করা হয়েছিল)

▣ ধারাবাহিকতা বোঝাতে (Indicating continuity/sequence) ☞ Gradually, one after another

📝 Example:- She is finishing the work day by day. (সে দিন দিন কাজ সম্পন্ন করছে)

❏ I am improving day by day. (আমি দিনে দিনে উন্নতি করছি।

❏ Enter the room one by one. (একে একে রুমে ঢুকলো)

❏ The situation is getting better step by step. (পরিস্থিতি ধাপে ধাপে ভালো হচ্ছে)

❏ He learned the language word by word. (সে শব্দটি শব্দ করে শিখেছিল)

❏ They arrived two by two. (তারা দুজন দুজন করে পৌঁছেছিল)

▣ নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের আগে বোঝাতে (Indicating before a specific time) ☞ Deadline

▣ পাশে বোঝাতে (Indicating "next to") ☞ Beside

📝 Example:- You can sit by me. (তুমি আমার পাশে বসতে পারো)

❏ He stood by the window. (সে জানালার পাশে দাঁড়িয়েছিল)

❏ The house by the lake is beautiful. (হ্রদের পাশের বাড়িটি সুন্দর)

❏ She sat by the fire. (সে আগুনের পাশে বসেছিল)

▣ উপায়ে বা পদ্ধতি বোঝাতে (Indicating method or manner) ☞ Through practice, by working

▣ শপথ বোঝাতে (Indicating oath) ☞ Swearing by someone

▣ পরিমাপ বোঝাতে (Indicating measurement) ☞ Dimensions

📝 Example:- The whiteboard is 4 feet by 3 feet. (হোয়াইট বোর্ডটি ৪ ফুট বাই ৩ ফুট)

❏ My living room is 13m by 15m. (আমার ঘর ১৩মি. বাই ১৫মি.)

❏ The room is 10 feet by 12 feet. (ঘরটি ১০ ফুট বাই ১২ ফুট)
